There's just so much music out there, if it's hard for people to find it, there's a good chance they just give up and go somewhere else.

Your website needs to do two things very quickly.

Number one, establish your credibility.

And number two, put your music in front of people.

If you’re someone that offers other services, that’s fine, so long as they’re related to the music you’re trying to sell.

But keep it simple.

Think about visiting your website from the perspective of somebody who knows nothing about you.

How easy would it be for that person to find the information that they need?

You might even have some non-musicians look at the site and give you feedback.

Also, remember that websites look a lot different on a tablet or a phone than they do on a desktop, so you’ll need to test it on all three kinds of devices to make sure everything is displaying the way that you want.

Above all, make it really easy for people to preview and purchase your music.

Count how many clicks it would take someone to get to your music from the homepage, and if there’s a way to cut it down, then do it.
