I think people way overcomplicate the way they think and talk about networking.
It’s good to buy people a coffee and go to conferences and share your demo reel and all of that. But there’s nothing quite like offering to pay people money to get them to take you seriously.

Have questions for a composer? Pay for a private lesson.
Need help with your gear? Hire an engineer to come tweak your setup.
You’ll find that you’re treated much differently when you’re somebody bringing gigs to the table rather than constantly asking for work or advice.
And the sooner you can get to that point where you’re a giver and not just a taker, the better off you’ll be.
